Feral Magic is a Mausritter supplement inspired by the wild magic table in Dungeons & Dragons.
When mice use spell tablets, they tap into a vast well of arcane power that is woven deep into the fabric of the natural world. This magic can be wild and unpredictable, even feral. Calling on this mysterious power can occasionally unleash feral blasts of untamed magic that can have varied, uncontrollable, and frequently entertaining results.
Whenever someone casts a spell, they roll d20 to see if they trigger a blast of feral magic. If they roll a 20, they must roll on the Feral Magic Blast table to see what the effect is. Each time they do not trigger a blast, the trigger expands by 1 (meaning the next roll will trigger a feral blast on a 19-20, the next time a blast is not triggered it will expand to 18-20, and so on).
The blast trigger expands each time a blast is avoided and is reset to 20 when a blast is triggered, as well as at the end of each day. The blast trigger is shared across all players. Feral magic blast effects take place immediately.
Some effects are positive, some are negative, and some are purely narrative. Have fun with this! When a feral blast happens, make the effect entertaining and memorable. All the spells used in the effects come from the core Mausritter rule book.
